Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Advantage of an Article Directory Over a Newsletter or Ezine?

Newsletters can be useful and informative but they have 2 major drawbacks. First, if you need detailed, expert information on a given subject today, a weekly or monthly newsletter won't be of much use to you. Secondly, newsletter subscribers are not necessarily interested in every issue they receive. If you need information on "search engine positioning", you might have to wait awhile to receive it and then have to depend on the viewpoint of a single author. Not so with ComputingArena- you can choose exactly the content you want, when you want it. In minutes you can search and select a number of articles on "search engine positioning", "meta-tags", "advertising", etc. and have them in your Inbox shortly thereafter.

How Do I Find The Right Article?

The major advantage to using ComputingArena is receiving detailed information on any topic quickly. You can browse through our detailed category system or perform a quick or advanced search. The quickest and most direct way to find articles on the subject of your choice is to use the advanced search. Or you can subscribe to one or more of our RSS feeds and have fresh articles available direct from your desktop as they are added, without the need to give your email address.

How do I search ComputingArena Articles?

The search box at the top of any page can be used for a quick search. Go to the advanced search page to narrow down your search criteria. Here you can limit by category, as well as choose to search only in the title or the text or both. You are also free to choose how the results are sorted, either by date (latest submission first) or alphbetically by title. Clicking on any category link on the ComputingArena homepage will result in a dynamic real-time search of the database for that category. For example, clicking on the category link "Webmasters" will bring up all articles submitted to date but within that category only.

Do I Have To Tell The Author If I Use An Article?

All articles submitted to ComputingArena are available for unlimited free publishing and reprinting, subject to the terms of our User/Publisher Guide. Articles must be published "as is" (unedited) and with the author's bio paragraph (resource box) and copyright information included. However, we strongly recommend that you contact the author to notify him or her of your intentions and to confirm when and where the article will be used.

How do you deal with Copyright Issues and Violations?

Our policy prohibits the use of copyrighted material in a manner that violates the copyright owner's rights. In general, this means that article content obtained from ComputingArena must be used in accordance with the published guidelines and without change or modification. Authors and users should also be aware that there is significant personal exposure if they are found to be in violation of copyright laws. Anyone who violates copyright law is legally liable and subject to possible fines. If we are notified of a copyright violation the offending material will be removed from the database immediately.

As an Author, when shouldn't I submit articles?

ComputingArena is a free content article directory. If you are an author that charges a fee for publication of your articles, you should NOT submit your writings to this site. If you are concerned about how your article(s) may be used, be sure to provide contact information so that prospective users and/or publishers are able to reach you with questions. Before submitting an article, we recommend that you search the ComputingArena database to see if your articles are already there.

What Sort of Articles Can I Submit?

Any, as long as you follow the Authors Guide and take into account our restrictions and terms. A good guide is to browse the list of categories and if there is one into which your articles naturally fall, go ahead and submit.

Why Should I Submit My Articles?

Posted articles are seen by hundreds of newsletter publishers and site owners looking for free content, providing much greater exposure than an article might normally receive. Articles are downloaded daily by ComputingArena Users, exposing your information and links to a targeted and interested audience. Increased article exposure equates to increased traffic and link popularity with a consequent improvement in your site ranking.

Are My Contact Details Safe?

We reserve the right to contact authors on occasion to provide information regarding updates to ComputingArena or to communicate other information that we believe is of interest to the author community. I submitted an article but it never appeared on the site. Why?

Please wait at least one month before submitting a revision of your article.
